The café: wooden tables, string lights and the counter at the back
Fig & Rye

Open today until 4 pm

Slow mornings, good bread.

Sourdough from our own oven and coffee roasted across town. Come early for the rye; it does not last.

One oven, one starter, eleven years.

We opened with a second-hand deck oven and a jar of starter a neighbour gave us. The starter is still going. Everything on the counter is mixed, shaped and baked in the room behind it, and when it sells out, that is it for the day.

Bring a laptop if you like. There are sockets by the window, and nobody will hurry you.
